Professional website guidance

Website, advertising and business-card rules: practical platform summary.

This guide explains how the template and business-card systems should behave for Chartered Accountants, Company Secretaries, Cost Accountants, Advocates and Tax Consultants.

The central product rule is simple: one common visual builder may serve all five categories, but it must apply a separate compliance profile to each profession. The same testimonial, fee, logo, designation or call-to-action control cannot be enabled for everyone.

Common platform controls

Use by default

  • Factual firm, partner, branch and service information.
  • Neutral actions such as “Request Information” and “Contact the Firm.”
  • Professional articles, updates, guides and official-source links.
  • Secure appointment, chat and document facilities.
  • Verifiable qualifications and registrations.

Block or review

  • Best, top, number one, guaranteed and success-rate claims.
  • Unverified awards, rankings and government affiliations.
  • Testimonials and public pricing where restricted.
  • Client names, logos or outcomes without lawful permission.
  • Incompatible professional designations.

Chartered Accountants

CA websites can be modern, multilingual, knowledge-rich and technically advanced, but the presentation must remain professional rather than becoming aggressive commercial solicitation. The platform therefore disables testimonials, promotional professional-service prices, guarantees, superiority claims and third-party banner advertising by default.

Suitable information

  • Firm or member name, ICAI registration details, year of establishment and registered offices.
  • Partner details, recognised qualifications, languages, factual experience areas and passport-style photographs.
  • Service descriptions, blogs, articles, bulletins, professional updates, educational videos and secure client facilities.
  • Official-source links and permitted CA India logo treatment.

High-risk content

  • “Best CA,” “No. 1 GST expert,” guaranteed refund, guaranteed assessment success or similar wording.
  • Client testimonials, rating carousels, promotional fee packages and discount banners.
  • Ordinary commercial monograms or logos where ICAI rules restrict them.
  • Cold traffic campaigns for services reserved exclusively for Chartered Accountants.

Company Secretaries

CS templates should emphasise governance, corporate compliance, secretarial audit, board processes and statutory filings. The website should use factual scope-of-work language and avoid supremacy, tall claims, guaranteed approvals and suggestions of influence with MCA, ROC, NCLT or other authorities.

Cost Accountants

CMA templates may present cost audit, cost records, management accounting, costing systems, internal audit and advisory capabilities. The system should flag guaranteed cost reduction, lowest-fee claims, success guarantees, unsupported comparisons and unauthorised logo treatment.

Lawyers and Advocates

Advocate websites require the most restrained presentation. They should function as factual-information websites rather than promotional lead-generation websites. The platform includes an access disclaimer, neutral enquiry route and default blocks for testimonials, rankings, case-success claims, guaranteed bail or appeal outcomes, and statements suggesting influence with courts or authorities.

Tax Consultants

“Tax Consultant” is not one uniform statutory category. The onboarding process must first identify whether the person is a CA, CS, CMA, Advocate, GST Practitioner, return preparer or another service provider. The strictest applicable professional rule should control the website and business card.

Business cards

The business-card generator changes permitted fields according to the selected profession. Professional designations, institute or enrolment details, logos, QR destinations, establishment dates, taglines and additional qualifications should not be treated as unrestricted text fields.

How this prototype implements the guidance

  • Profession selection controls structures, services and compliance messages.
  • The claim checker flags high-risk promotional words.
  • Testimonials and public professional-fee modules are excluded from the default feature list.
  • The builder asks only basic details for the first preview.
  • Full registrations, photographs, partners, branches and integrations are deferred until the design is accepted.
  • The resource hub includes all three uploaded ICAI Code volumes and the detailed compliance report.
Important: This is a product-design and compliance-screening guide, not a formal legal opinion or regulator certification. Final public material should be approved under the rules applicable to the specific professional and engagement.
